Seasonal Somatics for Community Workers: finding sovereignty in the freeze
Class Description
Join Deanna Danger and Rachel Tate this Winter Solstice for a free group class, designed to support the transition into a new season.
This 60-minute virtual gathering explores the somatics of dignity, self-preservation, and seasonally appropriate steps through functional freeze for those working in the community.
Class will include discussion on the value of cultivating personal somatic practice, exercises to develop enduring boundaries, and practices to support you to integrate accessible & relatable steps centered in choice and agency.
Bonus! The class will finish with an open conversation space and an invitation to connect, share experiences, findings, and time for Q&A with the practitioners.
The intention of this class is primarily educational, with practices aimed at personal somatic inquiry in the season at hand.
Ultimately, your practitioners aim to create space for you to reconnect with your body, process felt experience, and leave with actionable practices that support you through the colder months ahead.
Please note: this class is not considered a group therapy substitute but rather a peer-led offering supported by educated, experienced somatic professionals.

Practice and Participation Suggestions:
Situate yourself in a space that allows you to keep attention with minimal interruption and maximum support, however that looks to you. We recommend a comfortable (maybe even cozy) position, but understand not everyone will be joining from an overly cushioned space.
Please participate in whatever way supports your comfort at the moment. Truly, we do not have a preference for whether or not you choose to be on or off camera. The same goes for engagement; you are welcome to watch us like a movie or chime in through voice, chat, or emoji when you want to engage. Ultimately, we are happy to see you join and aim to provide valuable support.
Bring: a piece of paper or journal and select writing utensils (🌈 markers or colored pencils highly encouraged) of your choice if you wanna join in on the activities.
Accommodations: As this class will take place on Zoom, you can expect the usual accommodations the platform provides.
