Foundations: a winter movement series

Description

Join me this winter for a 4 part class series aimed at collective care and fundraising for humanitarian efforts supporting Palestine.

This offering is based on the belief that we are inextricably linked together, and steeped in the value of sustained practices that brings us back to ourselves when the world is cold.

Each class is focused on establishing strong foundational shapes based in functional postures like standing, sitting, reclining, and hands and knees. Within these actions is the invitation to slow down to find strength and ease of form. Interwoven in each familiar shape will be with curious movement that replicates fundamental and transitional movement patterns that precede the simple act of walking. Expect this class to be mostly low to the ground, slow in pace, and supported with cues that invite a return to earth, body, and self. Each class is related to the last, but not dependent. Attend some, or all.

This offering is intended to nourish a tender nervous system, and support joint health, all while practicing in community.

My hopes are that you are able to re-connect with your body and earth, process and integrate felt experience, and leave with a sense of ease.

Please note: this class is not considered to be a group therapy substitute, rather a group movement class with intention on physical and felt experience. There will be brief moments of checking in before and after class, but overall this is an experiential rather than discussion based container.
