Uncover Your Personal Resources
A 5 part course in somatic resourcing
Welcome, Lift Fitness & Wellness Community!
I am so glad you’re here! After my Instagram live chat with Angie about how to compassionately stick with routines and personal values, I thought it would be a great time to offer a resource I created, that many of my clients have found supportive through hard times - especially the very challenging season of winter.
This offering is based on somatic (a fancy term for body-based) methods and practices, which I feel go perfectly with someone who is already experienced with regular fitness and movement routines.
Whether you have an established movement practice or are just getting started, adding the lens of somatics will provide a dynamic perspective on building a relationship with your body.
I think of this bridge as a way to think of your workouts as more than just fitness, and start to see how therapeutic they can really be when you can slow down enough to notice all the signals coming up before, during, and after an exercise.
This is a deep level of self-inquiry that provides so much information on the state of our nervous system and gives insight into what resources really remind us of what helps us feel like our best selves, even when the season (or world) is a wild place.
TLDR: I made an intro course into somatics, which can elevate your fitness practice, I hope you find it supportive!
Body-based practices also have a way of getting right to the points of pain we carry with us day to day. I’m talking about the feelings we might not notice in the hustle and bustle or the feelings we might have tucked away for a rainy day, you know, the ones that sit heavily on our shoulders.
It doesn’t have to be this heavy.
Carrying the world on your shoulders is energy-intensive; it is quite literally draining. The problem with holding all of these experiences is that they will continue to pile up throughout life, no matter our capacity to do so.
Without processing and integration (creating more space), our energy goes to desperate attempts to keep it together, and we end up full of the stuff that diminishes our vitality.
There’s no room under all that pressure.
Something’s got to give.
We begin by resourcing.
Building a foundation of resources creates space to process our overflowing experiences (the good and the heavy).
Resourcing lightens the load and makes way for smoother integration.
(this is the feeling the feels bit)
We also resource in order to create the capacity needed to show up in the world we live in, without constant burn out.
(it’s wild out there, y’all)
We start by looking at what is already here.
We highlight your unique intuition and personal joy.
(even if these elements both feel so quiet)
A bit more about my background.
My name is Rachel and if you’re anything like me, I prefer to do my own research of a modality before I dive into 1:1 sessions with a practitioner.
So, I created this course for you to access your personal resources in your own time and place (ideally with a cup of seasonally appropriate coffee ☕️ )
As a somatic practitioner, bodyworker, and seasoned health and wellness professional I have been studying the body (and brain) for nearly 20 years.
My offerings (including this one), are rooted in Somatic Experiencing methods, Polyvagal theory, Attachment Theory, sociopsychological research and relationship with earth.
Through a multi-focused lens, I provide offerings that aim to empower the individual within the systems and environments we exist in, so you can hold the tools in your own hands and use them in ways that make sense in this world.
Take what you need and reach out when you want more.
“Rachel was an expert guide into the world of somatics. Her expert advice and experience helped introduce a strong foundation of tools and practices to invite gentle, embodied healing into my already existing practice.
